Laughed out loud when I saw this baby camel hanging out the back of a trailer on the Golden Gate Bridge this morning. Then became worried about the poor thing, swinging back and forth in what appeared to be a cross between a harness/hammock suspended from the trailer ceiling. It really looked as though he or she was going to burst right out of its makeshift cage.
Lots of people slowed down to snap a photo, but most had co-pilots who could do so safely. I did the same - without a co-pilot. Not the safest thing to do in rapidly-moving bridge traffic, but I couldn't resist. I forgot to clear the weepy fog off the windshield before clicking.
I would imagine the owners of this animal get a lot of grief from motorists who disagree with this treatment. I mean, could you get any further from a camel's natural habitat than swinging from a harness and hanging out of the back of a trailer while crossing the foggy Golden Gate Bridge?
